Match report

REDHILL LADIES 0 AFC WIMBLEDON LADIES 4

AFC Wimbledon Ladies struggled to break down a resilient Redhill side but eventually won 4-0 to earn a home Surrey Cup Quarter Final against Woking on 30 January.

Gemma Hunt forced an early save then was unlucky not to earn a penalty when tripped in the area. She then had two shots saved and then had the ball in the net only to be ruled offside in a frustrating first half.

With their passing game not working well on a very heavy pitch, the Dons tried the aerial route and were rewarded with two goals in the 52nd and 54th minute, Michelle Riley heading home a Lizzie Laws corner to open the scoring followed by Riley heading on a Laws corner for Gemma Hunt to loop a header into the roof of the net. Good work by Beth Sims allowed Danielle Rebelo to drill home a low shot in the 77th minute, and right on time the keeper turned a Julie Bygrave drive round the post only for Bygrave to head home the resultant Laws corner at the far post to complete a rather flattering scoreline.
