AFC WIMBLEDON LADIES 8 WOKING LADIES 0

A professional display by AFC Wimbledon Ladies saw them defeat South East Counties League leaders Woking to earn a Surrey Cup Semi-Final against Crystal Palace or Wandgas.

The early stages were quite even with Keisha Ramos volleying over and Louise Cooper turning a Cottier shot round the post, but the Dons went ahead in the 13th minute when Gemma Hunt went down in the area and Maria Bertelli converted the resultant penalty. Cottier volleyed over before Gemma Hunt rose to head home a Lizzie Laws corner to make it 2-0 in the 16th minute. Cooper then saved from Bartholomew, Keisha Ramos's header hit Bowen and Cottier's snap shot was unconventionally blocked by Cooper's legs.

After the interval Andy McGrady's shot was deflected over after good work by Gemma Hunt, who then powered home a header from Laura Smith's cross to make it 3-0 in the 52nd minute. Two minutes later Rachael Axon volleyed home a Laws corner then substitute Beth Sims hit the bar within a minute of coming on before scoring a quickfire hat-trick against a tiring defence in the 59th, 66th and 79th minutes. Maria Bertelli completed the scoring with a superb dipping 30-yard volley in the 88th minute to make the final score 8-0.
